Phat Eatery
In a few short years, KPC helped Alex Au-Yeung and his Malaysian Street food restaurant go from a relatively unknown restaurant in Katy Asian Town in 2018 to a 2022 James Beard Award Semifinalist for Best Chef: Texas. By guiding promotional strategy and conveying the brand’s unique story, KPC raised Phat Eatery’s visibility, earning it critical praise as one of Houston Chronicle’s Top 100 Restaurants by the end of its first year. The early success led Au-Yeung to expand his dining room to twice its original size to keep up with success and demand. KPC continued to build public and industry appeal for Au-Yeung and Phat Eatery resulting in a New York Times feature (Jan. 18, 2022), CultureMap Houston 2022 Tastemaker Awards nomination for “Chef of the Year” and “Restaurant of the Year,” plus the honor as one of Eater’s “The 38 Essential Houston Restaurants.”
